Double and Single Leaf Gate, Pedestrian Gate of Cricket Enclosure

All of our flat and pitched cricket practice net fencing enclosures provided in design options of cricket practice net fencing enclosure fit the three kinds of gate design below as shown in Table 1.

The gates shall be covered with chain link fabric, as shown in cricket net fencing enclosures, to match the fence. The covering shall be drawn taut and laced with 2.0 mm lacing wire to the outer frame and tied to each internal member.

Gate posts shall be medium quality and be suitable for the enclosure gates of different width from 1000 mm to 3600 mm as specified in table 1 and 2. The footings (baseplates) specification are also shown in table 2.

Gate design A pedestrian gate that has one horizontal internal members except for the gate framework. This is a gate with two horizontal internal tube and one vertical tube except for framework of 1800 mm width. This is a gate of 3600 mm width with two horizontal tube and two vertical horizontal tube except for the gate framework.

In-ground concrete footing sizes are designed for firm soil conditions. Gate post with baseplates only when agreed between purchaser and supplier. To be installed with head clamped to top rail for additional support.

Gates accessories:

  • Gates shall be fabricated in accordance with the diagrams 2, 3 and 4 shown below.
  • All joints shall be fully welded joints (staggered welding not permitted). Fillet welds shall be not less than 6 mm, exposed surface width and shall be cleaned by chipping and wire brushing.
  • Two coats of approved zinc-rich paint shall be applied in accordance with AS/NZS 4680 to any galvanized surface damaged by welding.
  • The height of the gate shall be in accordance with purchasers requirements (subject to allowance for sufficient minimum ground clearances).
  • Where clip-type hinges are used, a collar shall be welded to the gate frame to provide a bearing surface for either the top or bottom hinge.
  • Unless otherwise specified by the purchaser, trip-type catches may be fitted to gates for slam closing.
  • A drop-bolt made from 16 mm diameter round galvanized plain carbon steel shall be fitted to each double-leaf gate and keepers shall be provided at ground level to hold the gates in both open and closed positions.
  • The locking shall be by drop-bolts suitable for locking. A galvanized 8 mm chain welded to the handhole may be included if required by the purchaser. Handholes shall be incorporated in the gates so that a lock, can be accessed from either side of the gates. Handholes may be omitted if locking from one side only is required.
  • For single-leaf gates, a shoot bolt made from 12 mm diameter round galvanized plain carbon steel set into a handhole shall be provided for the attachment of a padlock. Handholes may be omitted if locking from one side only is required.
